"She was at Liquid Light again."

"You're kidding! She was just there Monday! She never goes twice in the same week!"

Kaiba Seto made an annoyed sound and attempted to tune out the gossip of his classmates. The main topic of conversation for the past few months had been Bishoujo... or at least, that's what everyone called the mystery girl who appeared at the dance club at least once a week.

According to the rumours, she never spoke when she appeared. She was interested only in dancing, and never let any one person get close to her for too long. She would stay at Liquid Light for at least an hour then vanish into the night.

She was an intriguing figure, Kaiba admitted to himself, but was beginning to take on the air of an urban legend. And he wouldn't believe she was real until he saw her with his own eyes.

"She was there last night. And I got to third base with her."

Kaiba was dragged back to the conversation by the one voice that never failed to grate on his nerves: "Bullshit, Yoshiro. She wouldn't even let you get near her!"

The brunet glance up from his book to see that Jyonouchi Katsuya had finally decided to chime in. For the most part the blond ignored what everyone had to say about Bishoujo, which was unusual in and of itself, but he never failed to speak out when someone claimed to have gotten closer to her than arms' length.

"You weren't even there," Yoshiro snapped back. "She was all over me."

"No, she wasn't, Yoshiro-kun," Mutou Yuugi chimed in. "I was there last night. She passed you without a second look. Maybe you aren't her type?"

Kaiba smirked at the comeback. Apparently Yuugi had been at the club every time Bishoujo appeared, usually by himself; it seemed that the still-short teen went to Liquid Light on the nights his best friend worked, so Jyonouchi himself had never seen the girl.

"When do you think she'll show up again?" one of the other students asked.

"She usually goes for about two hours on Saturdays," another replied. "Who wants to go watch for her with me?"

Several voices chimed in, including Honda Hiroto and Mazaki Anzu. Kaiba was about to tune out the conversation again when Jyonouchi spoke up once more: "Sounds fun. But I'm betting she won't go again until Sunday."

The brunet frowned to himself even as Yuugi agreed with Jyonouchi's claim. For someone who'd never seen Bishoujo, the blond had her pattern down. If he said the girl wasn't going to show, she didn't; and if he said she'd be at Liquid Light on Sunday, that was the night she'd be there.

Kaiba turned his gaze back to his book. It looked like he was going out this weekend.

Liquid Light was probably the only club in Domino that catered to the under-twenty crowd. Most of the clientele were students from the various high schools; as a result it was open until midnight Sunday through Friday and until three on Saturday. Most people tended to arrive by eight, hoping to see if Bishoujo was going to be there or not.

It was just past nine when Kaiba arrived. Anyone looking wouldn't recognize him at the CEO of Kaiba Corp this evening; for this excursion he'd opted for snug black jeans, a black turtleneck and his usual boots in lieu of the more recognizable leather he generally wore. Tonight he wasn't interested in garnering attention. He was hoping to find out if this Bishoujo was real or not.

A quick glance around revealed that Yuugi was present, as were Mazaki, Honda and Bakura Ryou; the later seemed to be attached to Yuugi at the hip. He saw no sign of Jyonouchi and shrugged it off. The blond had gotten a new job at the beginning of the school year and worked most weekends. For him to miss out on a night at Liquid Light was no real surprise. As far as Kaiba knew, Jyonouchi'd only been to the club five times since it had opened, and four of those were after Bishoujo started showing up.

Kaiba brushed the thought aside and made his way to a table on the edge of the dance floor. Chances were good that Bishoujo would go straight there whenever she did show up, and Kaiba wasn't about to miss seeing her for himself.

Although it was crowded, he knew almost the instant Bishoujo arrived at the club. One moment everyone on the dance floor was in constant motion; the next small groups were breaking off to give her room to move.

She was taller than Kaiba expected--for some reason he thought she'd be around Mazaki's height. Bishoujo's hair was about shoulder-length, messy yet somehow stylish, and appeared light brown or blonde under the strobe lights. She wore a knee-length black dress with a ragged hem--shorter in the front than in back--with off-the-shoulder lace-up sleeves, fishnet stockings, a black lace choker and Mary Jane platforms.

Kaiba'd never seen her before in his life... yet something about her screamed familiarity to him. She didn't seem all that concerned with the attention almost everyone in the club was paying her; it was obvious that she was there to enjoy herself. When the crowd shifted slightly around his table, Kaiba stood and moved onto the floor itself. His curiosity was getting the better of him and he definitely wanted a closer look.

As Bishoujo moved past where he stood, she turned her head slightly and gave Yoshiro (who was standing just to the left of where Kaiba had moved) a look that spoke volumes of displeasure and dislike. Before she was completely out of sight again, however, Kaiba managed to get a good look at her face: subtle eyeshadow, mascara, glossed lips.

Kaiba's own eyes narrowed as he watched her continue to dance, oblivious to all around her. He now understood just why she'd seemed so familiar to him.

Bishounen might be a more fitting moniker.
